Did you mark your calendars for August 26th?

You  won't want to miss Windsor's First Corn Festival & Tractor Show at Klumpp Park from noon to 6 pm.  There will be much to do and see and fun galore!

The Windsor Fire Dept is offering a chicken BBQ, pair that with the roasted corn Windsor First United Methodist will be cooking up for you.  Gramp's Concessions will have corn dogs, hamburgers, hotdogs, fried dough, fresh cut french fries and more. B & B Kettlekorn will have their delicious varities of sweetened popcorn and Zion Episcopal Church will have popcorn you can flavor to your liking.   Windsor Lions will have their sno-cones and Liddic Ice Cream will have their treats to keep you cool.  Windsor Partners will have walk-away tacos and cotton candy and the Peruvian Bakery will have their wonderful cookies, humitas and tamales for a special treat.

Peruse the line-up of tractors and learn a little about their history.  We are still looking for additional entries and there is no registration fee, but please call for a registration form so we can make a sign for your tractor display.  Miller Farms will be bringing a calf for petting and Winsor Farms is planning a nice display for your enjoyment.  Kevin VonRoon will be bringing a cider press for demonstration.

Children's games will be offered by Windsor Partners, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Windsor Bible Baptist Church.  Cascade Valley School House will be selling spin art frisbees.  Diane Wallick, our very own librarian, is presenting “The History of Corn” and also children's activities.  Corn husk doll crafts will be taught by the Girl Scouts and we are pleased to have face painting available.  The Windsor Civic club will have a dish dime toss and chances on one of two Movie Baskets.  Sign up for the Corn Hole Tournament individually or as a two person team.  Join the corn husking competition and/or make a guess at the candy corn counting contest.

The Windsor Partnership is sponsoring our Third Annual Duck Race in the creek in Klumpp Park.  Rent a duck for $5.00 or 5 for $20.00 and you may win one of several prizes.  First place is $250, second is $100, third is $50 and the prize for last place is $25.  Join the crowds on the bank of the creek to cheer your duck to the finish line.  Winners do not need to be present to win, however.  Ducks can be purchased in advance at Acclaim Insurance Agency at 121 Main St in Windsor.

How about some foot tapping music?  We have the priviledge of having two local bands for your entertainment.  The Kelsey family from Ouaquaga, NY makes up the band Habit Formin’, playing mostly Bluegrass and old Country with a little flair of variety.  All grew up on their family dairy farm in Ouaquaga and have long enjoyed playing and singing at family events and most recently at the Blueberry Fest and Joycies outback BBQ in Montrose, PA.  They look forward to many more years of sharing their love of music with each other, as well as, others in their community.  They will be playing from noon until The Stoutmen take over from 2 – 4 pm, and Habit Formin' will return to play until the end of the event thereafter.  Bleachers, chairs and a tent will seat you for the entertainment so you won't be in the sun unless that's your preference.

Let's not forget all of our crafters and other vendors who will all bring something special to the event.  We have a multitude of various informational vendors, retail vendors and crafters for you to visit during the event.

If you need a vendor form, corn hole tournament or tractor registration form, or want to volunteer to help during the event, please call Elaine at 607-655-3399 or email at acclaimagency@gmail.com.
Hope to see you at the event rain or shine!
