Deadly Exchange: What are American Police Forces Learning in Israel?
Guest speaker: Eran Efrati, investigative researcher, former Israeli Defense forces soldier and director of Researching the American0Israeli AllianceOpening oud music, dedicated to the people of Gaza: Dara Anissi
Speaker Eran Efrati will discuss how the occupation of Palestine has come home to Central New York. Since 2002 US law enforcement has been training with the Israeli military in the context of the “War on Terror.” As Black Lives Matter and other social movements seek accountability and an end to police violence, why are American police officers training with an apparatus that enforces a military occupation in Palestine? And how do we resist the militarization of policing and the criminalization of citizens and immigrants? This community event will provide answers to these questions.
