The Figure and Emotions

Date:
10/19/2017 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location:
Cooperative Gallery 213 State St Binghamton

Cooperative Gallery 213 is having a Third Thursday event dealing with the Figure and Emotions on October 19th at 7PM. Everyone is welcome to participate in an interactive discussion. All types of art deal with emotion. Visual artists often use color, facial expressions, symbols, and/or body posture to evoke an emotion. Musicians can use major or minor keys. Writers and choreographers focus on emotion to make their work rich and accessible. We have invited actors to talk about how they make their characters convey their emotional state to the audience.

Visual art, with the exception of videos, is relatively static. There is no time to establish a mood like performers can. Come share how emotion is expressed in your work. Should art always show emotion? What tools do you use to convey your feelings?

The Cooperative Gallery is at 213 State Street. Light refreshments will be served.
