Democrats to hold annual Jefferson Day Breakfast

The Broome County Democratic Committee has announced that its annual Jefferson Day event will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 8:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Traditions at the Glen, 4101 Watson Blvd Johnson City, New York.  A breakfast buffet will be provided.  Admission is $40.00 per person or free for current members of the Chairman’s Club.

Broome Democrats typically honor one or more of our dedicated party members each year.  This year’s honorees are the Honorable Kim Myers, former Broome County Legislator and candidate for Congress; the Honorable James Testani, former Binghamton City Councilman and past Chairman of the Broome County Democratic Committee; the Honorable Suzanne Messina, a former Broome County Legislator and current Vestal Town Board Member; and the Honorable Mary Anne Lehmann, retired Binghamton City Court judge.

Broome County Democratic Committee Chairman Tim Grippen said, “The Jefferson Day celebration has been a way to honor democratic elected officials and dedicated party volunteers for more than two decades now.  I am certain that this year’s event will be a success”, said Grippen.

The menu will include scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, and sausage, home fries, stuffed French toast, fresh baked breakfast breads and pastries, assorted bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, and assorted juices, coffee and tea.

The Broome County Democratic Committee holds its annual Jefferson Day event in the spring each year to coincide with the birth of Thomas Jefferson, one our nation’s founders.  Many prominent Democratic officials also frequently attend this event. This year we expect New York State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, and our newly elected Broome County Executive, Jason Garnar are expected to attend among many other local elected officials.

This year a special guest speaker, our New York State Comptroller the Honorable Thomas P. DiNapoli, will join us and share some of his thoughts on state and national issues.
