Colgan in “Chameleon” and Ryan in “Drawings, Prints and Pottery” at Cooperative Gallery
Two experienced Cooperative Gallery members are sharing a show August 1-24, 2019. Martha Colgan will show new collaged, mixed media paintings in “Chameleon” and Nancy Ryan will present “Drawings, Prints and Pottery” at the Cooperative Gallery 213 State St. in Binghamton, NY. The artists’ reception on Thursday August 1st from 6-8 pm is open to the public. The exbibit is also on the First Friday Art Walk from 3-9 pm and every Friday 3-6 pm and Sat 12-4 pm in August.
“I continue to search for new ways to layer and combine media,” said Martha Colgan. “I have collaged original art fragments over, and into, paintings. My subjects are taken from nature, for me, the source for all meaningful art.”
Nancy Ryan’s media is charcoal, ink, and mixed media drawings, monotypes and mixed method prints. “My pottery is horsehair raku,” explains Nancy.
The Cooperative Gallery, a popular stop on the First Friday Art Walk, located at Artists Row –State of the Art, at 213 State Street in Binghamton, is open on First Friday 3- 9 pm and regularly Fridays from 3-6 and Saturdays from 12- 4 pm and by appointment with the artists.
