Washington Street Mall Project Kick-Off Meeting Thursday

(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) — The City of Binghamton will host a public kick-off meeting to discuss plans to improve the Washington Street Pedestrian Mall on Thursday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator, 120 Hawley St. in Binghamton.
Project consultants will present general concepts and gather input. A formal public meeting will be scheduled on final design options later this year. Construction will begin in 2020.
The project is part of the City’s Arts DECO District plan for streetscape improvements, public art installations and investments that support downtown Binghamton’s arts and culture destinations. The plan was awarded $1.7 million as part of Empire State Development’s Greater Binghamton Fund.
