September 15th, 2022 (Binghamton, NY)—The Broome County Arts Council (BCAC) announces the 4th Annual Broome Art Trail and Destination Arts Weekend, October 1st & 2nd, 2022. Maps are now available for free at participating locations and local businesses!

The Broome Art Trail is a self-guided tour of open artist studios and local businesses across Broome County where artists show and sell their work. Like the First Friday Art Walk, this event is free and open to the public to visit artist spaces, meet the artists, and experience original artwork and live music. The Broome Art Trail features over 80 local artists in 31 locations (“sites”) and 15 musical performances in Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Vestal, Whitney Point, Port Crane, and Town of Maine. We are also joined by the organization Hearts of Hope, an initiative inviting visitors to paint a heart to give “hope” to communities affected by the recent tragedy in Buffalo, NY.

Artists will be exhibiting and selling their work in a variety of mediums, including painting, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, fiber and woodworking. All locations will be open from 12pm-4pm on both Saturday October 1st and Sunday October 2nd, with many venues featuring artist demonstrations, art activities, and live music. Pick up a printed map at participating locations and local businesses, or see venues and participating artists online: https://broomearts.org/in-the-community/broome-art-trail/

“We are looking forward to this arts-filled weekend. It will be a good opportunity for our community to get out of the house, drive around the county and visit somewhere new at the beginning of the fall season,” says Shawna Stevenson, Director of Programs & Marketing at the Broome County Arts Council. “It gives artists a chance to show what they have been working on, network with other artists, and sell their work.”

The Broome Art Trail is made possible by the support of the Broome County Government and Visit Binghamton. Visit Binghamton Director Judi Hess adds, “Visit Binghamton is proud to collaborate with the Broome County Arts Council. We are so happy that the ’Broome Art Trail’ is expanding and we hope that visitors will take this opportunity to discover our rich arts scene.”
