Comrade Where Are You Today? at Bundy

January 24, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Thursday January 24
In the summer of 1988 Kirsi Liimatainen, 20, along with 3 other Finns, goes to the International Wilhelm Pieck College in the German Democratic Republic. The college teaches socialist doctrine for students from 80 different countries. Liimatainen was in the last cohort- the Berlin Wall came down a year later, followed by the reunification of Germany & the end of the great socialist experiment of the German Democratic Republic.
20 years later she travels to Germany, Bolivia, Chile, Lebanon,& South Africa to find out what happened to her fellow students from around the world. With the help of only a few photographs & code names, as many had to attend the college in secret, she wants to know about their lives over the years & how they view the world given their shared experience.
