About the Artist
Jenny Morris is a fiber artist and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. She has published three chapbooks: Wind Tunnel of Trash (Thistlemilk Press, 2015), Termites (Bookwook Feminist Press Collective, 2015), and Re/De Construction (Self Published, 2016). Her collaborative thesis book deals with the relationship beyond memory, a theme which continues to be a cornerstone in her work. Jenny is an alumni of the Mors Tua Vita Mea Writer’s Workshop, which she attended in Italy in 2018, and is a 2016 graduate of Pratt Institute. Her colorful and tactile fiber work has been featured in group shows such as Allergy Season (Gowanus Print Lab, 2017) and The Great Outdoors (Plank Road Gallery, 2018).
In 2019, she was the first artist-in-residence to participate in the Kangaroo Residency under the Memory Maker Project in Binghamton, NY. Her March show, In Longing, will showcase the culmination of four months spent working within the dementia arts community, which will include both her own work and the work done with those with memory loss during this time. She hopes to continue to contribute to the conversation surrounding memory loss with commentary that is as playful and present as it is critical and intentional.
