Gallery Showcases Two New Members

Stephen Schweitzer and Linda Ciallelo are new members of the Cooperative Gallery and will be showing there for the first time November 6- 28^th, including First Friday. Schweitzer’s “les ustensiles” brings a fresh perspective to colorful photographs of everyday utensils. Ciallelo, an accomplished portraitist, will show human figures and still life in paint and drawings. In addition to First Friday, the Cooperative Gallery is open Saturdays 11 am to 3 pm and by appointment with the artists.

Schweitzer, a well known videographer and photographer, is focusing on the beauty of utensils in your kitchen. He comments, “Pris pour acquis … souvent négligés, rarement vantés … les ustensiles de base pour cuisiner … venez profiter de leur moment de gloire!” (Translation: “Taken for granted…. often overlooked, seldom praised… the basic utensils for cooking…  come and enjoy their moment of glory!” More information on this work is online on our YouTube Channel.

Ciallelo accepts commissions for portraits and will show current work. Part of her involvement in the gallery is organizing Live Painting on Mondays. “I am most interested in capturing the light reflected on skin as well as other structures,” she says. View her video about her work here.

The Cooperative Gallery, a popular stop on the First Friday Art Walk, located at Artists Row –State of the Art, at 213 State Street in Binghamton, is open on First Friday 6- 9 pm and regularly Saturdays from 11 am- 3 pm. The Cooperative Gallery also posts on Instagram, Facebook and has been posting videos of each artist in a show on its YouTube channel, as well as its own website, www.cooperativegallery.com.
