SENATOR-ELECT LEA WEBB STATEMENT ON THE NOMINATION OF JUSTICE LASALLE FOR CHIEF

Senator-Elect Lea Webb said, “The proposed nomination of Justice Hector LaSalle to be Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, given his record on key issues such as workers’ rights and reproductive care, would limit the important progress needed to protect these rights for our communities. Especially in light of the recent Supreme Court decisions on these issues, we need to ensure in New York that we appoint judges who will address these disparities and who are committed to equity and justice for all. If the nomination comes to the Senate floor, I will vote No.”
