It’s almost here: our virtual Justice Works 2021 conference is next weekend! (July 17-18)
If you have already registered, you’re one of hundreds of others who are gearing up for a weekend of participatory workshops, networking, and amazing speakers and performances.
If you haven’t – take a minute and do it right now! We’ve got an incredible lineup of workshops, including:
- New York’s Housing Crisis: Policies that Address the Roots, Not the Symptoms
- Advancing Statewide Civil Rights in Solidarity with the Black Liberation Movement
- Where Do We Go from Here? The Legalization of Cannabis in New York State
- This is What Democracy Looks Like: 2021 and Beyond
- The Path to a New, New York: WFP’s Participatory Platform-Setting Process
Check out the full list of workshops on our website.
Every aspect of this year’s virtual conference is participatory and engaging, not just the workshops! This year’s exciting program includes interactive entertainment like What’s Cooking (the Citizen Action cooking show), Sunday Morning Movement, a non-denominational service on Sunday morning, and our virtual Happy Hour (complete with cocktail and mocktail recipes!) where you can meet and mingle with other organizers and activists from across our state.
We also have several inspiring speakers and performers, including:
- Speaker: Sarah Lewis, who will speak on the intersection of arts and justice, and what it means to feel a sense of belonging in the movement
- Speaker: Zakyiah Ansari, who has dedicated more than 20 years of her life to fighting for education justice for Black and Brown children
- Danielle Ponder, an empowering American soul singer
- Performer: Truth Speaker, 14 year old artist and lyricist
- Performers: Resistance Revival Chorus, a collective of more than 60 women and non-binary singers
Join us to be inspired and to plan the next stages of the fight for a progressive New York!
