English Country Dance New Season
January 23, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
The Binghamton English Country Dancers will begin its Winter-Spring semester Wednesday January 23. We meet every Wednesday from 7:30-9:30 pm in the Great Hall at Christ Episcopal Church, 10 Henry Street, Binghamton.
Although we will be preparing dances for our April 6 English Country Ball, we welcome beginners of all ages and will work with you to develop your skills. Please bring a clean pair of shoes and a snack to share. Try your first class FREE! We have skilled teachers and live music by Brandywine and the Playford Gang. No partner needed. A $25 fee covers the series of 9-10 classes.
English Country Dance is the style of dancing described in Jane Austen’s books and others from that time period, and shown in film adaptations of the same. If you like historical literature, dance, patterns and precision, and having fun, English Country Dance may be for you. It’s also good exercise both for the mind and body! Come join us!
