Fedczuk and Ciallelo at Cooperative November

November 1, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Two experienced artists present their art at the Cooperative Gallery 213 November 1-23, 2019. Karen Fedczuk offers ink drawings in “Winter Ascent” and Linda Ciallelo employs oil and pastels in “Figures and Flowers.” A reception for the artists coincides with the First Friday Art Walk when the gallery is open from 3- 9 pm and the exhibits continue every Friday thereafter from 3- 6 pm, Saturdays, 12-4 pm, and by appointment.

Ciallelo is one of Cooperative’s newest members but has been active as an artist for 55 years. “I am a contemporary realist, but not a hyper realist,” she explains. “My style borders between Realism and Impressionism.” She is adept at the human figure and equally skilled at still lifes.

Fedczuk is one of the Gallery’s finest printmakers, but in “Winter Ascent” she explores familiar environments in ink drawings. “This body of work was inspired by places I am very familiar with and have returned to many times,” she says. “The snow covered mountains and trees give me a sense of calm introspection and are real and vivid in my memories.”

The Cooperative Gallery at 213 State St. Binghamton will celebrate its 20th Anniversary in 2020 and will present a retrospective show open to all current and past exhibiting members in February. The gallery has showcased local artists with new exhibits each month and a Holiday Show of Supporting Members each December, as well the annual Bob Johnston Memorial Photo Show and Competition each January. The gallery has 26 exhibiting members and nearly 100 supporting members with a website at www.cooperativegallery.com and a weekly e-news of current events in Binghamton’s art world.
