For 5 years, you helped LUMA create a totally unique kind of festival in Downtown Binghamton. There isn’t anything like it anywhere else in the US.
Now, it draws artists and fans from all over the world. And because there’s no general admission ticket, anyone can experience it, regardless of background.
But if that’s going to continue, we truly need your help.
Long story short: Earlier this year, after speaking to our sponsors, team members and artists, we decided to build a ‘digital first’ festival for 2020 so the community could come together even during these tough times–if not on the street, then at least online.
But the COVID economy was tougher than we imagined–and a few key backers informed us in recent days that they can’t come through in 2020 after all.
If LUMA is going to return in 2021, we need your help.
Just so you know, we’re not planning to scrap the work we’ve done for 2020. Earlier this year, LUMA teamed up with Enhance VR and Tri-Cities Opera for our most innovative project yet–reinventing live theatre for a socially distant age.
Concept Sketches for Miranda
Miranda: A Steam Punk VR Experience is an interactive collaboration with live actors in full motion capture gear that you can experience from home. When we lost our backers, Miranda was more than half-finished–and you can help bring it to life.
We truly appreciate your time, energy and support,
Joshua Bernard
